After the Galaxy Note7 fallout, it was up to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge to rescue Samsung, which is one of the contributing reasons why Samsung reported its highest fourth-quarter profit in a period of three years. According to a fresh report, it looks like consumers might not shy away from purchasing the Galaxy S8 because the handset is expected to break the sales tally of the company’s current flagship, the Galaxy S7.
Galaxy S7 Sold Approximately 50 Million Units – Galaxy S8 Reported to Surpass That Sales Number
Samsung has already set a very ambitious sales target for its Galaxy S8; the company plans to sell 60 million units for the entire 2017 period. If the projected sales number has been achieved, then the information coming from Business Korea via industry sources will come true. There are two versions of the Galaxy S8 that will be announced on March 29; one will be the 5.8-inch version that features a 3,000mAh battery while the larger 6.2-inch version will have a 3,500mAh cell.
Both phones will be available to purchase in the Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 chipset versions and it will be a nice speed test between each variant to see which one performs better in multitasking sets and other scenarios. From a benchmarking point of view, the Exynos 8895 takes the cake because it has already obtained a higher score than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835.
There is speculation on when the smartphones will be available to purchase. Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be sold from April 21, but let us wait for the official announcement to kick off so when can provide you with accurate information.
